operation murdered out

So as you may know I always wanted to murder out my Tahoe. I was never a fan of that super typical champagne color whatever the hell it is. Since I purchased it used, color choice wasn't an option. I have some experience with the whole satin thing with my 90 Integra. I was always a fan of the flat/ satin look.

After all said and done (well, more like 95% done). I used 8 cans of Rustoleum Satin Black Sheen Finish spray cans @ $4.50 each, and 2 cans of Duplicolor Bumper Coat Black @ $6.99 each (for the front and rear chrome bumper trim). Im pretty happy with the contrast of the bumper black on the chrome pieces. There's a slight difference in shade from the Satin black. Pretty good contrast i'd say, but not unless I tell you it was a different black then you probably wouldn't know.

I want to say I probably did 3-4 heavy coats. What sucks with the rustoleum is that it shoots really wet, but I guess that's a good thing too since you can see what spots you hit the most. After all was dry I just took a look at each panel and for whatever spots I missed I did a really light coat to cover it up.

-8 cans Rustoleum Satin Black Sheen Finish
-2 cans Duplicolor Bumper Black Paint
-2 rolls of masking tape
-2 foam sanding blocks
-variety pack of sandpaper 220-320-400 grit
-random newspapers for masking

project cost: less than $50

Here's a few cellphone pics of the ride. I'll try and shoot the car shortly hopefully when the weather clears up.

A little ps fun with the homie Black.

Also taking applications for the "Murdered Out Crew" So far there's 1 member and that's me. The crew consist of my Tahoe and my 90 Integra.
